The Disturbing Truth.
This is an article I read, after hearing about it on the news.
"Mom Thwarts Plan To Murder *N Sync
Updated 12:06 PDT Thu, Oct 19 2000
The mother of a Tennessee teenager is being credited with possibly foiling
her son's bizarre plot to gun down the members of *N Sync at an Atlanta
concert October 21.
The apparent motive? 'The group gets all the good girls,' according to a
Sumner County, Tenn., detective.
The 17-year-old boy's mother notified police when she found a folder in his
room labeled 'Operation Death Strike,' and discovered it contained details
of an alleged plot to ambush the boy band at an upcoming concert.
According to the Gallatin, Tenn., News Examiner, detectives described a
'pretty detailed plan' that included robbing a local gun store, 'taking out'
the store's owner, and then heading to Atlanta with an arsenal for a
showdown with *N Sync at the Philips Arena.
From there, the goal was to open fire on the band and anyone else in his
way.
The folder also contained drawings, plans for dealing with law enforcement
if he was discovered, and references to local high school girls. Police
notified their families as well as school officials as a precautionary
measure.
Sumner County Sheriff's Capt. Don Linzy told the News Examiner that the
boy's writings indicated that his hatred of *N Sync stemmed from jealousy.
Citing the carnage at Columbine High School near Denver last year, Linzy had
nothing but praise for the mother who turned in her own son.
'I know it's never an easy thing to do, but she did the right thing in
alerting authorities. She found something disturbing and took action,' Linzy
told the newspaper.
'I can't praise her enough. We don't know what his real intentions were, but
you never know what might have happened.'"

This is what I wrote to a friend of mine after reading it.
I knew about the article, but I never got to read it. It's really sick, the world we live in huh? I actually think I would be totally distraught if anything were to happen to Chris, especially in that matter, intentionally, you know? What really disturbs me it well, secrect's out. Now that teenagers realize the seriousness behind the phrases "I think *N Sync should die." Or something like that. What if they act on it, like this guy might have? It's heartbreaking to think someone would go that far to harm someone they did not even know.
So what if they get girls? The kid's 17. How many girls of his will Justin pick up? Not many. Lance? Probably not. Joey? No. JC? no. Chris? Hello!! He's 29!! Hell No!
How many girls that had the potential of being this guy's signifigant other would be sucked into *N Sync's lives? That's what I thought.
It pisses me off.
The world is screwed up.
See ya
